In this video, I found an exhibition of paintings that can be seen as installations at the same time. He painted his three sons on top of the broken ceramics in the three works shown in this video conversation.
I will be quoting Julian Schnabel's words in the sentences below, as I am currently thinking about what he said during this film:
"I don't think it is so important to leave something around. I think it is important to notice something...something all of us can understand in a subliminal way."
He quoted Christopher Walking when saying: " If you can't surprise yourself, how do you accept to surprise anybody else?"
"You are responsible for what you put into the world and that is the struggle".
