Madeline Donahue is an artist who makes artworks, about the intimacy of motherhood. The complexity and the absurd, joyful world it all is. Her autobiographical drawings and ceramics give a glimpse into how once one becomes a mother how life changes.
Her practice consists of a similar amount of drawings, paintings, and ceramic artworks. She is interested in the natural vulnerable feeling behind each life scene she formulates. Embracing where we are in our everyday moments is a worthwhile takeaway from viewing her works. Her humor and perspective on otherwise challenging situations are what encourage us in carrying on with our everyday activities. She is an inspiring artist whose artworks I keep looking at over and over again.
