I was looking at one of my earlier paintings. It represents a couple that is hugging each other because they have not seen each other for a long time. I realized that for some reason I like to paint in a way that one can see a lot of small verticle brush strokes on the canvas. I am thinking about how this could relate to my current mosaic figure-making project. I am noticing that for some reason I am interested in representing the "building of small pieces together".
